Get Rid of Cummings
Paul Samuelson, the Nobel laureate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, recalled that John Maynard Keynes once was challenged for altering his position on some economic issue. “When my information changes,” he remembered that Keynes had said, “I change my mind. What do you do?” (https://quoteinvestigator.com/2011/07/22/keynes-change-mind/)
So, Boris ... what will you do?
Today we need pragmatists, not ideologues. The UK is heading for disaster as Covid-19 has stripped the reserves that organisations put in place to tide them (and us) over a no-deal Brexit. We need time to rebuild this country; it won't change the decision made through the referendum, in fact through careful rebuilding we may achieve a better Brexit for the whole country.
The illustration came from the petition 'Dominic Cummings must be sacked ' on Change.org

Pragmatism does not, I'm afraid, have a place in the bumbling narcissistic world of Boris or the malicious world of his backers. In fact, the whole Brexit shambles is beyond the wildest dreams of the disaster capitalists who started it and who will rake it in. The more chaotic it is for the country, the more it serves their ends. Plenty of people see the Brexit con for what it is but somehow seem powerless to really stand up to it. I have done what an individual on their own can do against the enormity of this fraud that has allied itself to and is reliant on its success on British race hate, bigotry, stupidity, complacency, entitlement and ignorance: I got out, taking my money with me. I urge others to do the same unless and until there is co-ordinated effective resistance to this usurpation of power and its dishonest, malign agenda. Nikki, I hope you will survive but I would take action if I were you as trying to reason it out serves no purpose. Sue x
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Sue and I am so glad we are not living in England. My 3 children and their families are still there and I have encouraged them to move to Scotland the only sane part of the UK and hope it will become an independent member of the EEA soon. I hope that from the mess we will see a united Ireland and an alliance between Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
ReplyDeleteWish you luck in your endeavours.
